OROUA LICENSING COMMITTEE 4

ANNUAL MEETING

(Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, June 4. The annual meeting of the Oroua Licensing Committee was held at the Courthouse this afternoon, Mr R. M. Watson, S.M., presiding. There were also present:—Messrs. J. W. Bramweli, 11. G. Booth, E. Goodbehere, T. Watson and P. Guy The following licenses were renewed: —Empire Hotel, Feilding (W. H. Hart); Halcombe Hotel (W. Rogers); Manchester Hotel, Feilding (L. T. Traill); Feilding Hotel, Feilding (W. M. Jones) ; Commercial Hotel, Ashhurst (Mrs E. MacCartliy); Denbigh Hotel, Feilding (H. Burrows); Royal Hotel Ohingaiti (E. F. Wood); Huntl erville Hotel, Hunterville (R. T. Smith); Masonic Hotel, Ashliurst (A. J. Havill). Publicans’ licenses were issued to the following:—J. B. Last, Langholm Hotel, Mangaweka; J. T. Kelly, Argyll Hotel, Hunterville; Mrs L. J. Meliarry, Royal Hotel, Bunnytliorpe; A. F. Lorrigan, Cheltenham Hotel; P. W. Pinhey, Commercial Hotel, Kimbolton; G~ W. Seddells, Apiti Hotel; W. F. Swift, Rangiwahia Hotel. Wholesale licenses were granted as under:- —Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., Feilding; W. M. Watson, Mangaweka; F. G. Taylor, Hunterville. Senior-Sergeant White-house, of Palmerston North, and Sergeant O’Neill, of Taihape, represented the police, and reported that the general conduct of the licensed houses throughout the district was satisfactory.
