RAUMAI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RAUMAI, Juno 4. On Friday evening last a social and danco was hold in the Raumai Hall in aid of the Palmerston North Highland Pipe Band. A good crowd was present and Palmerston North visitors provided a mosl enjoyable entertainment. The Pipe Band was in good form and played selections both outside tho hall and at the social which followed. A good programmo of fancy dancing, vocal solos, etc., was provided and tho dance following was most successful and was kept up till the early hours, orchestral music being supplied by tho visitors. Another concert and dance is to bo held at Raumai in tho near future, and it is anticipated that, remembering the enjoyable time spent on Friday evening, a largo attendance will be present. A rather serious acident befell Mr E. Beamy last week whilo chopping a. tree. The axo caught in a limb and inflicted a severe cut in Mr Leamy’s face. Ho has returned home after a few days in hospital and all hopo for his spoedy recovery.
