TENNIS FASHIONS.
ATTIRE FOR WOMEN. (Australian Press Association —United Service). Received May 27, 11.20 a.m. LONDON, May 26. Mr Larcombe, the manager of the All-English Club, admits that it is most probable the committee will consider whether women competitors at Wimbledon will be allowed to play without stockings. Miss Helen Wills, who set the fashion in Europe, when interviewed to-day seemed sceptical as to whether the club would venture to issue a rule on such a personal matter. Nevertheless, she would not like to oppose it if it were the official ruling. When questioned on the matter, Senorita D’Alvarez, the fascinating Spanish player, expressed the opinion that it was out of keeping to wear a, frock and no stockings. “If they decided to wear bathing' costumes for tennis it would be an excellent idea,” the Spanish lady added.
