TIMELY DISCOVERY
STRYCHNINE IN CREAM. CAN TAKEN TO FACTORY. TESTER POISONED. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Copyright). Received May 16, 9.45 a.in. SYDNEY, May 16.
Six gallons of cream delivered in a can nt the Albion Park butter factory a few days ago were thoroughly impregnated with strychnine. The tester at the factory tasted the cream and noticed that it was bitter. Later lie fell writhing in a seizure. A doctor was. called and diagnosed the case as strychnine poisoning. It is alleged that a bottle containing the deadly poison was upset at a dairy farm on the coast and that some of the liquid rail into the cream can. In ignorance of this fact the can was filled with cream and sent to the factory. It can readily be imagined what might have happened had the mistake gone undiscovered by tlio tester.
