SALUTARY SENTENCES.
TWO YOUNG MEN SENT TO GAOL. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 15. In the Supreme Court, two young men, Roy Gordon Capel and William Gibson, were sentenced by Mr Justice Kennedy to long terms of imprisonment. Capel, for assault, with intent to commit a more serious' offence, was sentenced to four years’ hard labour, concurrent with a sentence he is now serving, and Gibson for a major offence oil the same woman five gears’ hard labour, concurrent with a sentence he is now serving. Capel had, at the November session, been acquitted on a serious charge and was sentenced- to two years’ Borstal treatment for breaking, entering and theft. While awaiting sentence he committed the crime for which he was to-day sentenced.
