Received April 12, 12.55 p.m. LONDON, April 11. • The Betting Control Board Company has accepted the tenders, “for the present,” of the Lightning Automatic Totalisator Company, the British Automati c Totalisator Company, the Graham Amplion Company, and, fourthly, the Bell Punch and Printing Company. They will be installed on twelve leading racecourses, including Newmarket. Probably the first will be ready for Hurst Park in August. The Graham Amplion Company state that their tender amounted to £IOO,OOO for a machine - worked .entirely by electricity. The board’s decision indicates that it considers the totalisators named superior for English purposes to the type used on Australian racecourses, which were also submitted for consideration. .

It is stated that orders for large sums have been placed with all the firms mentioned, though the figures are not announced.
