DANGEROUS CORNERS.
SIGNPOSTS TO BE ERECTED. MANAWATU COUNTY’S ACTION. The recent accidents which have taken place at intersections on the Sanson-Foxton main highway, and particularly the one at Rongotea Siding, were the subject of a discussion at this week’s meeting of the Manawatu County Council when it was decided to erect sign 7 posts at all corners in the county that were considered dangerous. In arriving at thip decision the council condemned the action of inconsiderate motorists who speeded past and across intersections without regard for public safety. In this respect, also, it was pointed out that travellers from side roads were often at fault for they ventured on to a busy . main highway without first ascertaining whether the corner was clear. It was hoped that the erection of the signposts at the Rongotea Sfcling intersection would prevent a recur- ; rence of the recent accidents.
