SUNDAY TRAINS.
OPPOSITION EXPRESSED
Per Press Association
DUNEDIN, Aprid 2. A deputation representing the Council of Christian Congregations waited on Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Railways, this morning protesting against the increasing number of Sunday railway excursions and the department’s advertising them as tending to lower the movals of the community. In a non-oommital reply the Minister said that similar representations were to be made to him by other cities, and he promised that their arguments would receive the greatest possible consideration. He pointed out that there was another side to the question; a demand for Sunday trains existed or the department would not fill it. .
