PERSONAL.

■ (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, April 2. The deatß occurred yesterday at the Palmerston North Hospital of Mr Douglas Beattie, for some years a resident of Feilding. A .widow and three children are left to mourn their loss. Mrs Revington-Jones, of Feilding, is a sister of the deceased. The many friends of Mr O. Jones, of Kopane, will be pleased, to learn that he is making a good recovery in the Palmerston North Hospital from an attack of pneumonia. POLO. The first match of the 1929 Saville Cup polo tourney will take place on Thursday, when Wairarapa will meet Homewood B. The second match will, be between the senior Waikato team — Matangi A —and Hawke’s Bay B, while in the afternoon Hawke’s Bay A will engage Homewood A, and, if the ground permits, the first match for the junior cup between Feilding B and Waimai (Waikato) will follow: On Saturday afternoon the polo sports and pony races will be held on the racecourse.
