GENERAL EYRIE’S WARNING. The High Commissioner for Australia (Sir Granville Eyrie) in bidding farewell to boys who left England for Australia by the Orsova referred to the possible hardships and temptations that they might meet. “Some parents,” he said, “have a false idea that sending boys to the country districts exempts them from the temptation of drink, but I think that the farthest outback towns are the worst in this respect.”
