EXCHEQUER RETURNS.
SURPLUS FOR YEAR. (British Official Wireless). Received March 30, 9.5 a.m. RUGBY, March 27. The Exchequer returns issued las? night show a revenue surplus of £9,400,000 up to March 23, compared with a surplus of £2,200,000 on March 16. One week’s revenue has still to be collected before the close of the financial year—on Saturday next. The revenue for the year to March 23 amounts to £732,200.000, and the ordinary expenditure, including sinking funds, to £722,700,000.
