POLICEMAN ASSAULTED.
MAN SENT TO GAOL. Per Press Association. MASTERTON, March 2. Leonard, W. Corbett was sentenced in the Magistrate’s Court to seven days’ imprisonment for having assaulted Constable le Comte while in the execution of his duty. A charge of theft of a motor car was dismissed. On a charge of passing a valueless cheque, accused was remanded to Wellington.
