RAILWAY ROUTE.
fcISBOIINE TO WAIROA. PRIME MINISTER’S DECISION. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, March 4. The Prime Minister to-day ended the controversy with regard to the railway route between Gisborne and Wairoa, stating that the Government would construct it along the sea coast because this was cheaper and also that the inland districts could be more easily served now with motor transport than in the past. He was assured by a dputation that now tiiat a decision had been finally made the Government would receive the support of those working for the adoption of different routes.
