BRITISH RECIPIENTS. THREE PEERAGES. (British Official Wireless.) .RUGBY. Feb. 28. The honours list, which was postponed on account of the King’s illness, has now been issued. . Peerages are conferred on the following: Sir Jesse Boot, of the well-known firm of chemists, for his services in the promotion of education. Mr Urban Huttleston Rogers Broughton, in consideration of the . public, political and philanthropic services of iris father, the late Urban Hanlon Broughton, whose elevation to the peerage would have been recommended to His Majesty but for his death on January 30 last. The late Urban Hanlon Broughton was the well-known British engineer, and was engaged for many years in engineering, mining and railway work in the United States, becoming president of various big companies. Sir Berkeley Moynilian, president of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Nino recipients of baronetcies include Mr Friedrick Eckstein, chairman of the Sudan plantations syndicate, for his services to the Sudan; Mr William Horne, chairman of the Prudential Assurance Company; Mr Alexander Park Lyle, chairman of the Lyle Shipping Company, for his services in connection with the Scottish National War Memorial; and Mr William Morris, of the wellknown motor manufacturing firm. Thirty new knights are appointed, mostly for political and public services. They include Mr H. V. Roe, for distinguished services to British .aviation. Order of Saint Michael and Saint George: Knights Grand Cross—Briga-dier-General Sir Samuel Wilson, Permanent Under-Secretary for the Colonies; and Sir George Clark, Ambassador at Constantinople; Knights Com. manders —Sir Ronald Storrs, Governor of Cyprus; Mr Robert Greg, Minister at Bucharest; and Mr Howard Kennard, Minister at Belgrade. Order of the British Empire: Knights Grand Cross —Air yioe-Mar-shal. Sir Philip Game and Sir Henry Dobbs, High Commissioner of Irak. Dame Grand Cross —Mrs Alfred Lyttel. ton. The Dames Commanders include Mrs Laura Knight, Associate of the Royal Academy; Professor Anne Mcllroy, Professor of Obstetrics at the. Royal Free Hospital. Knight Commander —Mr John Pratt, one of the Consuls-General in China. The Commanders include Professor Winifred Cullis, Professor of Physiology at the Royal Free Hospital. Companions of Honour —Lady Bargett, Dean of the London School of Medicine for Women; Miss Lilian Baylis, lessee and manager of the Old Vic Theatre, and Mr Frederick Delius, the blind composer.
