BOXING.

AMATEUR TOURNAMENT AT BLENHEIM. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, Feb. 28. A team of four Wellington boxers competed in an amateur tournament bore to-night, gaining one win and a dr.aw against Marlborough representatives. The chief bout to-night, between Len Turner (Rai Valley), lOst 12Jlb, New Zealand middleweight champion, and J. Tasker (Wellington), resulted in a win for Turner after a willing mill. Turner forced the fight, and had Tasker apparently groggy in the fourth round, but the Wellington boxer hung on. The judges disagreed, and the referee’s verdict had a mixed reception. J. Simonsen (Blenheim), 9st 31b, fought a draw with W. McGee (Wellington), lOst. They both went a solid four rounds, both absorbing a great deal of punishment. C. Andrell (Blenheim) list 41b, gain, ed a decision over C. Tasker (Wellington), list, after a hard-fought four rounds, in which Andrell always led on points. J. Jackson (Wellington) 9st 81b, defeated S. Crispin- (Canvastown), 9st. ICSIb, in a savagely contested bout. Both fighters showed remarkable grit.
