FINALITY REACHED.
IN APPRENTICESHIP DISPUTE. PROTRACTED PROCEEDINGS END. Finality was reached in the Arbitration Court this morning in the appeal made by H. B. Cooper, an apprentice, against his dismissal by his employer, C. B. Gilmour, electrician, of Levin. The allegation made by the employer was that appellant had been slack in his work, and lie was discharged. The matter has been the subject of proceedings in tile Arbitration Court oil several previous occasions. Arrangements were made by the Labour Department for the boy’s temporary transfer to another employer, Mr T. Bevan, of Levin, and this course of action was confirmed by the Court to-day, which made the arrangement permanent. His. Honour Mr Justice Frazer directed'that the boy he retained by his present employer to finish his trade, and that a contract be made out to Mr Bevan, one month’s wages, amounting to £8 ss, to be paid to the boy by Mr Gilmour.
