HAWKE CUP. AMENDMENT IN DATES. Nelson, who wero to havo commenced a challenge game versus Manawatu for the Hawke Cup next Wednesday, have now notified the local authorities that they will be unable to fulfill tho fixture till the following week. Originally, on finding that they could not get a team to travel on the 6th, Nelson had suggested transferring their dates to Easter week, but with Waiapau and Wanganui also desirous of lodging their challenges about that period, difficulties naturally arose. The position was accordingly referred to tho New Zealand Cricket Council, but in the meantime Nelson have intimated that they will visit Palmerston North on the 13th and a clash in dates has thus been avoided. Tho visitors have always proved serious contestants for Hawke Cup honours and it was on tho occasion of their previous visit to Palmerston North that the Nelsonians went on to Wanganui to capture tho Hawko Cup only to lose it at a later data to tho river city represen tativea.
