SANDON NOTES.
(From Our Own Corespondent). SANDON, Fob. 28. -Athletes and cyclists are reminded that nominations for me forthcoming meeting close on Monday next. The local fixture is a popular one and cyclists have nothing but good to say of tho track. The contests for the McKelvio and Homblow Shields should also attract good fields. Mr W. S. Penny was taken ill early in the week and was ordered into hospital by his medical adviser. It is feared that an operation will be necessary. Mr Penny’s many friends around the district wish him a speedy return to health. Tho work of bituminising Mt. Stewart Road is proceeding. The spell of dry woather is causing tho roads to break up badly. Rain is also very necessary for the preparation work being done on the Mt. Stewart-Awahuri Road. Dairy farmers will also welcome a good shower and the supply cf tank water in tho township is petting low. Mrs C. L. Anderson i= visbing tho di‘ trict. At present she is staying with Mr Roy Anderson.
