ANNUAL SPORTS,

Ideal weather prevailed for the annual Boys’ High School sports which were conducted to-day. In the earlier part of the morning the semi-finals of various events were decided. Tho programme proper was commenced about 11 a.m.

Some good performances wore registered despite a strong wind which blew almost head on for tho sprint and hurdle events. ''Members of tho staff acted as starters, etc., while the game committeo —E. Fletcher, A. Tremewan, J. McHaffie, B. McCorkindalc and N. Fletcher—assisted in getting off a lengthy programme without a hitch. K. Glendinning’s record for throwing tho cricket ball (under 16) was bettered by Cutlor who advanced the best distance from 86yds 9in. to 89yds. Ift. 2in. He had, howover, tho advantage of tho wind.
