At the annual meeting of the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand held in Wellington this week councillors were elected as follow: —Mr J. L. Arcus (Wellington), Mr A. M. Seaman (Auckland), Mr A. 0. Wilkinson (Christchurch), Mr James Hogg (Dunedin), Mr E. J. Harvey (Blenheim). A report of the special general meeting of the institute held on July 27 was adopted. The report showed that t”ITS motion to wind up the institute failed to secure the necessary majority. The sum of £SO was voted to be distributed equally between the four metropolitan technical schools for the assistance of the commerce classes. The following officers were elected:—Mr A. 0. Wilkinson (Christchurch), president; Mr J. L. Arcus (Wellington), vice-president; Mr D. R. Menzies (Wellington), treasurer; Mr G. J. Feil, auditor. A committee was set up to confer with a committee of the Society of Accountants concerning a charter. Tho new entertainment hall at the Showgrounds lias been the , scene of many enjoyable functions, and yet another, not a whit less pleasurable, is promised for this evening when the staff of Messrs H. L. Young, Ltd., are giving their annual ball. No stone has been left unturned to ensure a successful evening, and an energetic committee has paid special attention to the decorations.
