Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 4.

The following additional remits wero carried at the meeting of the council of the New Zealand Bowling Association: Mr Okoy (Christchurch) moved “that in tho champion rinks competition two games of 25 heads bo played each day for four days.” The mover put in a strong plea for two games a day as three games, he said, made it altogether too strenuous. On the motion being put it was carried without a dissentient voice. Mr Gladding (Auckland) moved ‘that the order of play for tho tournament be the same as last year, viz., singles, rinks, and pairs, post section play in the singles and pairs to bo deferred until after, tho section play in tho rinks.” Mr Marlow seconded the motion, and said that tho system curtailed the tournament by a day and a-half. By any other system 75 per cent, of tho players would bo walking about for two or three days in the centre of tho tourney. Mr Fastier also thought tho system that best that had been evolved. It was “fluked” upon during the visit of the British bowlers, and it had proved to bo tho best insofar as it was the only system which had permitted them to clean up to schodulo time. It was decided that the tournament com. menco with tho singles on Monday, January 7, the rinks to commence on Wednes- , day, January 9, and the pairs on Monday, January 14. Two days were allotted to the pairs. It was decided that preference bo given to rinks in post-section play. The singles are to be played on tho automatic twolife system. Mr Marlow moved that the pairs bo played as last year with the alteration that the section ties bo included in post-section play in games of 21 heads, to bo decided on tho 6uddon death principle. This was approved. The matter of the establishment of a benevolent fund for tho benefits ofwidows and orphans of bowlers and of indigent bowlers was brought forward. Mr Gladding moved that the council approve tho principle of establishing a benevolent fund, but on being put to the council the motion was rejected. Several members of tho council spoke in favour of arranging a visit to tho Australian States of an official New Zealand team. It was given out that if such a team wero formed, there would bo plenty of applicants from all parts of New Zealand. The following new rule was passed : “Tho Council or any centre shall have power on inquiry to disqualify or suspend either temporarily or permanently any member of a club affiliated to the association or any centre who may bo found guilty of unfair play of wilfully altering a bowl after it is stamped by the official bowltester of such association or centre, of using profane, indecent or improper language at any function of such association, centre or club, or during any game or on the property of any club; or betting on tho result of a game in which ho is a player, or if at any such function or game or on any such property in tho opinion of the centre or council he misconducts himself.”
