GERMANY’S AIMS.
BETTER WITHOUT COLONIES,
. OPINION OF CHANCELLOR,
(Australian Press Association. —United Service.) BERLIN, Aug. 4. A strong declaration was made by the Chancellor, Herr Mueller, against German participation in colonial activities. He stated that Germany had no money for the institution of a profitable colonial policy. Moreover, she was at present enjoying high prestige among colonial peoples striving for independence, for the very reason that she no longer engaged in the exploitation of other nations. It would be better for Germany to take part in mandated territories in the Mandates Commission, and win respect and thus improve her trade again.
