WEALTHY ESTATE.
EXCHEQUER TO BENEFIT,
(Australian Press Association.) LONDON, Aug. 4. The Exchequer will benefit to the extent of £4,000,000 from the estate of tho lato Sir George Wills, whose estate has been provisionally sworn at £10,000,000. After legacies are paid to relatives, employees, and charities, tho residuary, estato will be left between children.
The Into Sirg Gcorgo Wills was at one time chairman of the Imperial Tobacco Company, and died on July 11, at the age of 74 years. He belonged to the family of millionaires, of whom since his father, died nineteen years ago, leaving a fortune, of over £5,000,00.0, three members have died, each of them leaving over £1,000,000. Sir George was a generous supporter of charitable, educational and other institutions, to which ho gave gifts totalling £500,000, including £300,000 to the Bristol University.
