DAYLIGHT SAVING.

SUGGESTION BY MR SIDEY. WELLINGTON, July 31. A further idea with a view to enabling those in the cities and towns to have the benefit of daylight saving notwithstanding that it is no longer illegally in force was advanced by Mr T .K. Sidey (Dunedin South) in the House of Representatives to-night. His idea was that the municipal bodies should take into consideration an amendment of the Municipal Corporations Act to deal with such difficulties as Arbitration Court awards that would be affected by voluntary daylight saving as well as tlie hours of shop and office ■ closing. He expressed the opinion that the Minister might take these matters into his consideration in connection with tho Municipal Corporation Act. He, himself, would give attention to it.
