TIN HARE BETTING.
LEGALISING BILL MENTIONED. SYDNEY, July 11. According to tlio secretary of the Lithgow Electric Coursing Association, Mr Udy, a bill to be introduced into the Assembly next session to legaliso tin hare betting will be sponsored by a Nationalist.
“But there are big movements in regard to the matter,” continued Mr Udy, “and a deputation will wait on the Premier urging that betting be allowed to continue pending the introduction of the bill.
Mr Hamilton Ivnight, M.L.A., said Cabinet had a mania for repudiating the contracts of the previous Government, and patrons of tin hares could rest assured that if the bill were made a party measure, there would be no legislation of betting, « >
