The Devon and Somerset Staghounds club are. it is understood, attempting to purchase Dunkerry Beacon and 700 acres of surrounding land. The price mentioned is £2500. Some fear has been felt recently that this Devon beauty spot, immortalised in •‘Lorna Doolie,” may be lost to tire public.
