SKIES BOMBARDED.
ATTACK ON HAIL. LONDON, July 20. Bombarding the skies will high explosive to prevent the formation of hail, and thereby saving vines, is the latest feature of agricultural science, according to a dispatch from tho Daily Mail’s Geneva correspondent. Recently, the authorities banged away at the skies for wo hours, during a heavy thunderstorm o ntlie FrancoSwiss border, witha new type of high explosive, jtop revent the hail forming. Winegrowers state tliatthe efficiency of tho method was proved by tho area where the bombardment took place escaping serious damage, whereas in a neighbouring district where the rockets were not used 50 per cent of the crop was ruined.
