Y.M.C.A. WORK.
PARENTS’ WEEK. During the past week tho Y.M.C.A. has thrown open its doors and invited citizens and parents to inspect the work being done, and much public interest lias been evinced. A feature attracting special attention was the hobby display arranged by tho boys’ division, the models being on public view in a shop window. On Thursday night Rotarians were the guests of tho association, and tho Mayor congratulated. the authorities upon the tine work they were doing for the youth of the town. Last Tuesday a “boss and boy” tea was held for the first time when members of the Cheerio Club entertained their employees at tea. Mr W. R. Taylor gave an interesting address on “The relationship between employer and employee.” Tlie week was brought to a close yesterday afternoon when a parents’ reception was held to enable parents to meet the national secretary for New Zealand, Mr R. W. Brasted. Appropriate addresses were delivered by Mr Jas. Wallace, president of the local Y.M.C.A., and Mr T. R. Hodder, chairman of the board of directors. Mrs J. Wallace also delivered a short address on the work of the ladies’ auxiliary.
