VISIT TO IDZUMO.
ADMIRAL THANKS MAYOR. FOR TOWN’S HOSPITALITY. Tho Mayor, Mr A. J. Graham, during his stay in Wellington yesterday, paid a visit to the Idzumo, tho flagship of the Japanese squadron, and was entertained by the Admiral, who thanked the Mayor for the hospitality extended eo his officers on Thursday last when they visited this town. Commander Tago, who was in charge of the party, commented that lie had been very pleased to note the Japanese flag Hying above one of the large business houses here, and he asked Mr Graham" to convey his thanks to the firm con"cerned. Mr Graham, in promising; to do so, expressed regret that the Borough Council had not been able to honour the v’ jitors by flying their national ensign, but one had not been available. After a conversation with the Admiral, the Mayor was shown over tho ship by Commander Tago.
