CHINESE DISLIKE BATHS. PORT ARTHUR, July 2. ' Many Chinese are terror-stricken at the idea of having their first baths, The police and sanitary officials, owing to the refusal of the Chinese to bathe, are experiencing the greatest difficulty in curbing an eruptive fever epidemic which is ravaging the Chinese population. Forced bathing was attempted in many areas, including the public schools, where the authorities erected huge baths, after the Japanese style, in the school yards, and many j children were given their first bath. I Some of the Chinese have fled to the forests to avoid this forced bathing. i' • /
