BUILDING SOCIETY.
STARR-BOWKETT ORGANISATION
The monthly meeting of directors of the Starr-Bowkett Building Society was held last night, there being present: S. J. Watson (in tbe_chair), C. E. Dempsy, F. Jackson, W. Muncly and AY. S. AYoodroofe. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs M. A. Eliott and J. B. Gerrand. Loans were arranged in tlio various groups as follow: —£3so by tender in No. 3 group and £SOO obtained by ballot in No. 4 group. The sum of £SOO was passed for payment for a loan completed in No. 5 group. Two loans of £SOO each were approved in No. G group, and a £SOO ballot completed in No. 7 group. The £SOO obtained by ballot in No. 9 group was reported as being _ for sale. Subscriptions paid in amounting to £llO were returned to a member residing in England, while £l5O subscriptions due to a deceased estate were also passed for payment. Ballots for free of interest loans will bo held at tho June meeting in groups 3, 6 and 7. A total of £2500 is to be distributed. Tenders and ballots in the other groups are to be held at the July meeting. A number of shares were applied for and duly allotted in No. 9 group.
