Her diamonds included the famous Kohinoor stone. The Duchess of York wore a white fleur de Soie gown .and an embroidered satin train.

LONGER AND FULLER SKIRTS.

(Times Cables). Received May 9, 1.10 p.m. LONDON, May S

The gowns worn at the first Court greatly regained in grace. The skirts were longer and fuller and the materials were of the lightest, and most delicate.

Many debutantes wore pale colours, but white and silver gowns were numerous; most of them had slim-fitting bodices. Long frilled skirts of tulle or chiffon lace and simple embroidered taffeta gowns with a sash or a huge bow at the hips, were plentiful, and showed that the Victorian fashions are returning. M any of the older women wore draped brocade. The trains were of lace-mounted chiffon or georgette. Other materials used were exquisitely embroidered.
