WELLINGTON, Dlay 8. The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council was held on Monday.

Kith regard to subscriptions which will become payable by clubs for the coining financial year it was resolved that the counci’s interpretation of the subscription rule is that the levy is applicable only to ordinary members and those with midweek or limited rights, and does not apply to non-paying members or honorary members, country members or junior members when tho last-named class pay a reduced rate of subscription. The following new dubs which had made application were elected members or the association: Awatere, Westport, Burnside and Te Kuiti Golf Clubs. Tho elections bring the total number of clubs in the association to 141.

Dates of forthcoming tournaments have been advised to the secretary as follow: Hastings, June 2, 4 and 5; Dlasterton, June 2. 4 and 5; Dar.nevirke, August 9, 10 and 11; Rotorua, August 28 and 31 ; ..Takapau, August 29 and, 30 (ladies’) and August 31 to September 1 (men’s); North Otago (Oamaru) October 22; Hamilton (South Auckland championship) October 4, 5 and 6; Now Zealand championship tournament (Dunedin) October 10 to 20; Manawatu, October 22, 23 and 24; Seafiekl (Wanganui), October 20, 22 and 23.

The secretary reported that in response to his letter to Dir C. H. Redhead, inquiring upon what terms lie would undertake the fixing of all the scratch scores, Dir Redhead immediately telegraphed and wrote to the effect that he would bo pleased to undertake the work and would make no charge. The secretary reported that excellent work is being done this year by the association’s professionals, both John Lambie and James Watt being completely booked up to tho middle of August with every'probability of further bookings to the end of the golf season in the country clubs.
