AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION

At a meeting of tho New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association held tonight T. Oakley’s time of 4min. 35 2-5 secs, for a, two miles cycle event at Alasterton was approved as aii Australian and New Zealand record.
Tho following resolution was adopted:—“That it be a recommendation from this association that early steps be taken to ensure sufficient funds being made available for New Zealand to be worthily represented at the Olympic - Games at Los Angeles in 1932, and that to this end each association representing the different interested branches of sport he set a minimum quota which it will be..expected to nave raised bv the end of 1931.”
W. B. Kalaugher is to he tried out with a view t.o his inclusion in the New Zealand Olympic team. The total profits on the Australian and New Zealand athletic championships in December were £378 10s. 1
