DAIRY ASSOCIATION
ENTERTAINMENT OF DELEGATES COUNTY COUNCIL’S ASSISTANCE. The Ivniranga County Council, at its meeting to-day, received a request from the committee appointed to entertain the delegates to the National Dairy Association’s meeting at tho Winter Show that a car be provided for either or both of the trips which aro to bo included in the programme of entertainment in connection with tho conference. .
Cr. Anderson, after stating that he thought the council should assit in the entertainment of tho delegates, said that it appeared that tho committee’in charge of tho arrangements was relying too much on local bodies and not enough on tho business people of the town.
Cr. Hopcroft said that tho business people were doing their share and tho matter ■would be as. much or more benefit to the country people, especially if tho delegates were taken for motor trips through the district. Cr. Cheetham moved that £lO he granted towards the cost of a motor trip, and Cr. Small seconding the motion, it was carried. It was also decided to give the association the use of tho county’s car.
