VOTE TO WOMEN.
BILL PASSES THIRD READING.
(British Official Wireless), Received May 8, 10.10 a.m. RUGBY, May 7. The House of Commons to-day passed without division tho third reading of tho bill giving the vote to women as to men at the age of 21. The bill has now to bo adopted by the House of Lords. Air P. Snowden, at the report stage, on the Equal Franchise Bill, moved an amendment to abolish all plural voting instead of giving it to propertied women as well as men.
Sir William Joynson-ITicks: If we were making an electoral amendment it might be reasonable. The bill simply gave women the vote on the same terms as men. Plural voters would only bo 450,000 out of 25,000,000. The amendment was defeated by 216 to 78.
