ARM TORN OFF.
MIGRANT’S FORTITIJDE. SYDNEY, Jan. 12. Extraordinary fortitude was displayed by William Robinson, a migrant from Scotland, who had his right arm crushed above the elbow in the extractors at the Charbon cement works. When liis coat became caught in the belting, drawing his arm into the machine above the elbow, Robinson threw himself against the guard rail and wrenched the remainder of the arm away. Then he walked 120-. yards to the dressing-station where he smoked a cigarette while first-aid was administered. He was afterwards removed to the Rylstone Hospital where his arm was amputated at the shoulder. RobinsoiV*expects his wife and familv to> arrive from Scotland shortly.
