Leet (99), Gallichan (80) and Norris (52) gave a pleasing exhibition with the willow. Day (62) and Hol-lic-r (41) also made a determined stand for It.S.A. Both games were completed for a first inning’s victory, High School suffering defeat at the hands of Palmerston by four wickets and 244 runs, while R.S.A., who could only supply eight batsmen, were unfortunate enough to lose by the narrow margin of 33 runs. R.S.A., the former eleven had compiled 252 for their first visit to the crease on the previous Saturday and R.S.A. had reached 20 without the loss ol a wicket. McSweeny and Didsbury, the not out men with 15 and one respectively, resumed the innings for R.S.A. The former had only added four when he fell a victim to Black. Hollier took centre to add 41 when lie succumbed to a similar decision, while Day was caught by 'Spring off Black. Four wickets were down for 163 at one stage and Murray’s failure to open Ins account did not improve the situation. At 186 the fifth man departed and thereafter a rot set in which resulted in defeat. Trigger was the only batsman to defend his wicket at the last, but when he had a dozen on the board he hit Diedericli into the hands of Burch and the chance of winning was lost.
