ENGLISH CROQUET PLAYERS
ARRIVE ON TUESDAY,
AUCKLAND, Jan. 20. A party of distinguished English croquet players will reach Auckland on Tuesday by the Ulimaroa. They are Colonel and Mrs Dupree and Miss Dupree. Mr and Airs Windsor Richards, Miss Steel, Miss Retallack, and S’.r Francis Colchester Wemysa. On the day of their arrival they will be taken for a drive round the city and suburbs, and afterwards entertained to afternoon tea. Next day an exhibition match will be played by the visitors on the Devonport lawn, and a reception will bo held for tiro visitors. Next morning at 10 o’clock a match will bo played at the Mount Eden lawn between the English visitors and a selected team of Auckland players, and later the visitors will leave for Wanganui on their tour of New Zealand.
