LIFE SAVING METHODS.
SUGGESTED SCHOOL SUBJECT,
DUNEDIN, Jan. 20. At the lannual conference of the Dominion branch of the Royal Life Saving Society a remit will be considered from Wellington head centre that, in view of the large numbers of drowning accidents during last season, and particularly those whose lives were lost through the would-be rescuer having no practical knowledge of methods of saving life, swimming and life-saving be made an optional subject for school teachers’ certificates and that the Dominion council bring that matter before the Minister of Education.
