CLERE CUP. The second distance swim of 66? yards for the Clere Cup was held last evening by the Palmerston North Summing Club, the results being as follow:—First heat: G. Fitzsimmons (7 sec) 1, It. Page ,(.scr) 2, H. Burd (osec) 3 ; time 51 1-5. Second heat: A. Street (6sec) 1, D. McDougall (6sec) 2, K. Moffatt (scr) 3; time 51. Final: A. Street (6sec) 1, It. Page (scr) 2, Iv. Moii'att (scr) 3; time 52. A number of the club members also went through rto a carnival at Marton on Thursday evening. Tho following were the Palmerston North placings: E. Fletcher and D. McDougall first in heats of the 50 yards open handicap and E. Fletcher first in the final; Miss Grinlington second in the ItibbonDive; E. Fletcher second in rtho 100 yards open handicap and first with Miss Cameron in the dual relay; Miss M. Gillies first and Miss D. Grinlington second in the ladies’ dive; 50 yards breaststroke, E. Fletcher 1, P. Robbie 3; plunge dive, E. Holder 2; men’s dive, A. Street 1.
