The compounding' of tread rubber was exhaustively investigated, countless tests and experiments in due course produced their quota of knowledge . . . this you will find expressed to-day by the tough, long-wearing tread of the English Dunlop. In the same relentless search for improvement came cotton and methods of spinning. The special cords spun for Dunlop in the Company’s own Mills in Lancashire contribute no small share to the general advancement in tyre building. Nothing was left to guess-work . . . laboratory results were checked by tests on track and still further checked by exhaustive road tests before being incorporated in the tyre you buy to-day . . . the tyre acknowledged the world over as the standard by which other tyres are judged.
