LONDON, Jan. 20.
In connection with eHrr Greener’s appointment as Minister of Defence, the Berlin correspondent of the Daily Sxpress states that President Hindenberg made a remarkable choice in selecting his old comrade-in-arms, one of the ablest men in Germany, despite the violent opposition of the Nationalists. The appointment will probaly result in Herr Groener becoming the next President. He is not only a staunch upholder of the Republic, but is a courageous patriot and a great soldier. It was on his advice that Kaiser Wilhelm... abdicated.—A. and N.Z. cable.
