LIBRARY BILL
PASSES LOWER HOUSE. OBJECTS OF MEASURE. (Bv Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. In the House of Representatives tonight Mr J. A. Nash moved the second reading of the Palmerston North Library Empowering Bill, details of which he explained to the House. The second reading was agreed to and the bill was subsequently put through all stages and passed. The purpose of the bill, is to permit the Borough Council to erect shops in conjunction with a library on the site of the old Occidental Hotel. Formal advice of the passing of the bill was received by the Mayor VMr A. J. Graham) who sent\the following telegram to Mr J. A. Nash, . M P -—“Heartily appreciate your efforts on the passing of the Library Empowering Bill.”
