CHESS.
The ninth and final round of the Palmerston North Chess Club’s championship tournament was commenced last evening, but several games were not completed. Messrs H. R. Thorburn and Wright were both successful in their games and, together with Mr K. Thorburri, are in the running for the honours. Games adjourned fjfom the previous meeting were also finalised last night, thus assuring an early completion of the competition to discover© the premier player.
