RACING NEWS.

FIXTURES. November 30, December 1, Feilding R.C. December 2,3, South Canterbury R.C. December 7,8, Woodville District R.C. FEILDING RACES. FIELDS OF GOOD DIMENSIONS. THE RUNNERS REVIEWED. By “Binocular” The popular spring meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club will open on the Feilding course to-morrow when district patrons aro promised an interesting day’s sport. Although the original large fields were considerably curtailed on acceptance day, the big majority of those with claims to form still stand their ground, but it is,not unlikely that the two days’ activities will furnish some surprises. Following is the card to be presented:— WAITARA HURDLES, of 200 sovs. One mile and three furlongs.

The poor support which has been forthcoming in the Waituna Hurdles was somewhat surprising, there being but nine remaining, Pouri and Sir Franciful being on terms at the head of the scalo with 10.0, Troilus being 31bs below. The last named appears to havo the best claims of tho trio provided he is displaying liis old form. Kalakauu and Star Area are two contestants with a good command of pace, tho former being tile more experienced in tho jumping department, while Revel has been showing a steady improvement in form of late. Mister Gamp and Maidos, two Awapuni candidates on the minimum, nave some claims to consideration and it would not be surprising to find Pouri, Troilus and Mister Gamp figuring in the run home. AORANGI TRIAL PLATE, of 150 sovs. Six furlongs.

The big field of 19 runners figure in the Aorangi Trial Plate, included among which aro Maui, Broad Acre, Royal Picture, Card Trick and Plane, all of whom have been displaying form recently. Limosa, who showed, a fund of promise last season, will be making a reappearance, while Liason is one of the sevoral others with claims to consideration. Probably Royal Picture, Broad Acre and Limosa will be preferred on tho day.

FEILDING CUP, of 400 sovs. One mile and a-quartcr.

The Feilding Cup will be a contest between six or seven horses, Euphonium being at the head of the weights with 8.10, Trcsham being 41bs bolow with Paitonu in closo attendance. The la3t named won well at Lvein and on a course of this naturo will bo again favoured, but the smallness of the field will not prove tho usual upsetting influence to some of the other runners such as Rowley and Novar, both of whom should bo closer up when the run for home is entered upon. Probably Paitonu will be the favourite, but tho Bisogne gelding might well encounter opposition from Euphonium and Rowley. KOWHAI HACK, of 150 sovs. Seven furlongs.

Tho burdensome field of 25 runners remains in tho Kowhai Hack Handicap and in the event of more than 19 going to the post, the event will be run in two divisions. Essential has boon seeing out his races in better style of late, but the seven furlongs may nevertheless prove a shade too far. Mandarine, Lin Arlington and Volplane might well prove dangerous contestants in the first division and Vigilance, Archon and Powhiri in the second. Aropeta was to have been a runner in the event but he has been scratched for all engagements. FEILDING STAKES, of 500 sovs. Five furlongs.

Kiosk is at the head of the poundages in tho Feilding Stakes, the Tea Tray representative being 41bs und 51bs ahead of i.icinius and Lysander respectively. Limited, Shirley and Lady Cavendish are three speedy sorts., although the first named may require a race. Silvermine and Silver Rule, two produots of .Chief Ruler and Silver Link, are lower down on the list and the first named may offer some opposition to Limited and Lady Cavendish. FLYING HANDICAP, of 250 eovs. Six furlongs.

Tho Flying Handicap furnishes a field of 14 open sprinters in which Royal Damon is required to give Bonogne, a winner at Ashhurst, 31bs. with Mireusonta 81bs. further removed. Lower down the scale come Sarchce, Whenuanui, Arrow Lad, Huikai, Bright Knight and Epistle, all of whom havo claims to consideration. On Ashhurst running probably Arrow Lad will be tho medium of strong support, but Royal Damon and Epistle might well offer opposition.

FITZROY HACK, of 150 bovs. Six furlongs.

Vast Acre has boon neebrded the steadier of 9.7 in tho Fitzroy Hack Handicap with Panther, a winner ut Masterton, lllbs. below. The speedy Lady Limond will be making a reappearance, hut may bo in need of a race. Denier, Silver Tray, Lady Cynthia, Desert Lad, Expense and Miss Mercia aro good sorts lower down tho scale and, favoured by the draw at the post, Vast Acre, Denier and Desert Lad might well play prominent roles. KIWITEA HIGH WEIGHT, of 200 sovs.' One mile and 110 yards.

The fmul event for the opening day—the Iviwitea Higliweight—finds Queen’s Choice, who ran out a seven furlong distance at Ashhurst in good stylo, at the head of the scale with 9.6, the northerner Bright Day being lOlbs. below. Then come Superb King, Orazone and Vivo, all of whom should find the distanco to their liking with Wanderlust, Kilmiss and Killoch lower down. If all go to the post; it should furnish a wide range of betting activities with Queen’s Choice, Superb King and Wanderlust putting forward claims.
