BRITISH BY-ELECTION.
CONSERVATIVE RETURNED. LONDON, Nov. 25. The by-election for Canterbury, as a result of Mr Ronald McNeill being raised to the peerage, resulted as follows: Sir William Wayland (Conservative) 13,657 Colonel D. Carnegie (Liberal) .. 10,175 —A. and N.Z. cable. Tho general election of 1924 resulted as follow: —Mr R. McNeill (Con.), 16,693; Colonel D. Carnegie (Lib.), 7061.
