TOKOMARU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKOMARU, Nov. 28.
The last of the scries of euchre and dance entertainments held by the school committee took place on Friday evening. The prize-winners were: —Ladies’ first prize, a pair of pillow-shams, Mrs Jameson; travelling prize, some dainty handkerchiefs, Mrs N. Kelly. John Breo and Mr Beach won the consolation prizes. The gentlemen’s first prize, a military brush and comb, and also tho travelling prizo, a bronze ash tray wore won by Airs Boote, who took tho placo of a gentleman, Tho games were keenly contested and a pleasant evening was spent by thoso attending, Tho musio was supplied by Air H, l’arr. Tho few days of lino weather last week encouraged farmers to got busy, although shearing operations have boon considerably retarded.
