HUNDREDS OF DEATHS. DNIESTER A RAGING TORRENT. EXTRAORDINARY DAMAGE. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received September 3, 11.5 a.m. WARSAW, Sept. 2. Seven towns and 347 villages in Galicia are flooded. The Dniester, which here is normally 18 yards wide, is now a raging four miles torrent. The 'ensuing isolation prevents details of tlie losses, but the death roll is estimated at some hundreds. . ' There are 10,000 homeless. The damage amounts to £1,000,000. Small towns have been completely destroyed. It is still raining heavily. The Government is rushing relief measures. Aeroplanes have participated prominently in hazardous rescues.—Australian and Now Zealand cable. '
