FINANCIAL MISSION.

PREMIER OF QUEENSLAND

Per Press Association

AUCKLAND, Aug. 15. Hon. W. McCormick, Premier of Queensland, who is a passenger by the Aorangi, spent some time in America and England on a financial mission. He is convinced that the credit of the British Dominions stands high in the money markets of both countries. Australia must curtail her borrowing overseas because she is spending too much loan money, and it is in her own interests to curtail expenditure. Mr McCormick is of the opinion that both Australia and New Zealand would be well advised to each year secure a portion of tlreir overseas financial accommodation from New York and thus ease the strain on the London market. An efficient manipulation of the proper system of loan flotation in New York, he is confident, would enable Australia to secure excellent terms in that quarter.
